What You Will Do:
University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) with a desire to join our multidisciplinary team in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The NICU at UMMC will be transitioning from our current 42 bed pod-based NICU into a state of art, 52 bed-single patient room unit in September 2015.
The neonatal nurse practitioner team at UMMC, provides 24/7 coverage for the patients in the NICU. The NNP is responsible for daily patient management, leadership and resource support for the medical team, and is an educational resource for nursing, medical staff and patient families. Medical plans and decisions are made in collaboration with attending physicians in a manner that utilizes evidence based interventions and current best practice while providing support and education for all team members. The NNP and Neonatal fellow are expected to function in tandem with collaborative roles supporting the patients within the division of neonatology. Additionally, the role of the Neonatal NP has expanded to provide coverage for the neonatal transport team through the Maryland Regional Neonatal Transport Program (MRNTP).
In addition to clinical responsibilities, all NPs participate in professional practice activities at varying levels. Schedule accommodations will be made and negotiated as needed.

What You Need to Be Successful:
The successful candidate will have completed a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program and will have successfully completed Neonatal NP certification. The ideal candidate will demonstrate solid clinical experience, possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team. Maryland licensure or eligibility is also required with a minimum of two (2) years of neonatal nursing experience. New graduate neonatal NPs are encouraged to apply.
